Weather in Bali

When people think of a Bali destination wedding, they envision an outdoor setting in a tropical paradise where the sun is always shining.  However, the reality is quite different! Bali has a tropical, warm, and humid climate all year due to its proximity to the equator.  It does, however, receive some of the most rainfall in the world.  There are more days with rain than without rain, especially during the monsoon season. This lasts from November to March. The good news is that rain in Bali typically falls in the form of intense but brief showers.

It is unusual to have days when it rains all day.  It is frequently possible to simply wait out the rain and postpone your ceremony by 30 – 60 minutes.  One of the best ways to address this issue is to schedule any ceremony early in the afternoon, preferably before 16.00 h.  It is always recommended to have a backup indoor venue or alternative plan in case of unexpected rain.

Bali has two distinct seasons to consider: the wet, which runs from October to March, and the dry, which runs from April to September.  Temperatures remain between 26.5°C and 30°C all year, only cooling slightly in the more central regions around Ubud and the mountains.

Wedding Season in Bali

Bali’s wedding season runs from April to October, with the months of June and September being particularly busy.  Due to the warm, sunny weather, the number of weddings peaks from August to September. This time of year provides ideal natural sunlight and a light breeze, making it ideal for a summer wedding.  However, perfect weather signals the start of peak tourist season and significant price increases.

Because of the large number of tourists from all over the world, most accommodations (venues, catering, etc.) raise their prices during peak season.  Meanwhile, because of the warm daytime temperatures and pleasantly cool nights, May, June, July, September, and October are also good months to marry in Bali.  Also, during these months, you can take advantage of lower rates and may find it easier to book and find availability.
